Chocolate Fondue is a rich, velvety dessert made by melting high-quality chocolate with cream and optional flavorings. Perfect for dipping fruits, cookies, and more, it’s a fun and interactive treat ideal for date nights, parties, or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz high-quality chocolate (dark, milk, semi-sweet, or white), chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or other flavoring (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Assorted dippers: strawberries, banana slices, apple wedges, marshmallows, pound cake cubes, pretzels, cookies, biscotti, etc.

Instructions

  1. Chop the chocolate into small pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just starts to simmer—do not let it boil.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Stir gently until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  5. Add butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt if using. Stir until glossy and fully incorporated.
  6. Transfer the fondue to a fondue pot or a heat-safe bowl kept warm with a tea light or low flame.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of dippers.
