Chocolate chip zucchini bread is a moist, tender quick bread made with shredded zucchini and sweet chocolate chips. It’s the perfect balance of wholesome and indulgent, ideal for breakfast, dessert, or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups grated zucchini, drained
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs with granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
  4. Stir in oil (or melted butter) and vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in the grated, drained zucchini.
  6. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle reserved chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Drain zucchini well to avoid soggy bread—use a clean towel to squeeze out moisture.Use semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate chips depending on your preference.Add nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra texture and flavor.For a healthier twist, swap some flour with whole wheat or reduce sugar slightly.Turn into muffins by baking in a muffin tin for 18–22 minutes at 350°F.
