Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

  • 1/2 cup celery, diced

  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add the diced onion and cook until softened.

  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Add carrots and celery and cook for 4–5 minutes until slightly tender.

  • Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well to coat.

  • Gradually pour in chicken broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.

  • Add milk and continue stirring until the sauce thickens.

  • Stir in shredded chicken, peas, thyme, salt, and black pepper.

  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish if not using an oven-safe skillet.

  • Place the biscuit dough pieces evenly on top of the chicken mixture.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

  • Let the dish cool slightly before serving.
