Chicken Cordon Bleu Meatloaf is a flavorful, easy-to-make twist on the classic Chicken Cordon Bleu. Made with ground chicken,  and melted Swiss cheese, this hearty meatloaf offers a comforting, no-fuss meal perfect for a weeknight dinner or family gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken

  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (or your choice of cheese)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan with olive oil or line it with parchment paper.

  • Mix the meatloaf: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken,  shredded Swiss cheese, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic, Dijon mustard, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until fully combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can affect the texture.

  • Form the meatloaf: Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Press it down evenly to form a compact loaf.

  • Top with Parmesan: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top for a golden, crispy finish.

  • Bake the meatloaf: Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.

  • Rest before serving: Once done, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to retain juices and ease slicing.

  • Serve: Slice and serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Notes

You can substitute Swiss cheese with cheddar, mozzarella, or provolone.Add finely chopped vegetables such as spinach or bell peppers for more flavor and nutrition. To make it gluten-free, swap breadcrumbs with gluten-free options like almond flour or gluten-free panko.A simple mustard sauce or creamy gravy can complement this dish.
