Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Add the ground turkey and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
  • Season with Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce and cooked rice until everything is evenly combined and heated through.
  • Reduce the heat to low and sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  • Cover the skillet and cook for 3–5 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil before serving.
