Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a blend)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the bread lengthwise or into thick slices.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, salt, and chopped parsley.
  4. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the bread slices.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the top.
  6. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. For a crispier top, broil for 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely.
  8. Serve warm.
