Caprese Salad is a fresh and vibrant Italian dish made with ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze. This simple yet flavorful salad is perfect as an appetizer, side dish, or light meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (or balsamic glaze)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into even, round slices. Tear or leave the basil leaves whole, depending on your preference.
  2. On a large platter, arrange the tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil in a circular or overlapping pattern.
  3. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar (or glaze) over the salad. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
