Broccoli Salad is a fresh, vibrant dish combining earthy broccoli with a sweet, creamy dressing. It’s the perfect side dish for barbecues, potlucks, or family meals, offering a balance of flavors and textures that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets (about 2 medium heads)
  • 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds or chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets and rinse them under cold water. You can also peel and slice the stems for added crunch.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the broccoli florets, raisins (or dried cranberries), sunflower seeds (or walnuts), shredded cheddar cheese (if using), and chopped red onion. Toss to combine.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey (or sugar), salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
  4. Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss everything together until well coated.
  5. Refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
