Boursin chicken is a creamy, comforting dish made with tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich garlic and herb cheese sauce. It’s quick to prepare yet tastes like a restaurant-quality meal, perfect for weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin cheese (garlic and fine herbs)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  5. Add Boursin cheese and stir until melted into the broth. Mix in heavy cream and simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Let simmer for 2–3 minutes to soak in the flavors.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Swap chicken breasts for thighs if you prefer juicier meat.Add spinach or mushrooms for extra vegetables.Try different Boursin flavors like shallot & chive or black pepper.Use half-and-half instead of cream for a lighter Version.Serve over pasta, mashed potatoes, or rice for a full meal.Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat gently with a splash of broth or cream.
