This Best Ever Chili is a hearty and comforting dish made with ground beef, beans, tomatoes, and bold spices. It’s thick, rich, and packed with flavor—perfect for cold nights, game days, or easy meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup beef broth or water
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onions and sauté until softened.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  4. Stir in tomato paste until the beef is well coated.
  5. Add crushed tomatoes, drained kidney beans, drained black beans, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  6. Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  8. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
