Preparing the Wings:
Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, and place a cooling rack on top for extra crispiness.
Prepare the wings: Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. Toss them in olive oil, salt, and pepper to coat evenly.
Arrange and bake: Lay the wings in a single layer on the cooling rack. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Broil for the last 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness, watching closely to avoid burning.
Making the Buffalo Sauce:
Melt the butter: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add hot sauce, garlic powder, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir until well combined.
Simmer the sauce: Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or vinegar, if needed.
Coating the Wings:
Toss the wings: Once wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour buffalo sauce over them and toss gently to coat evenly.
For a sweeter sauce, add 1-2 tablespoons of honey to the buffalo sauce. For extra crispy wings, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes after baking.Add garlic for extra flavor by incorporating minced garlic into the buffalo sauce.
