Ingredients

For the shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

For the sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce

  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste for spice level)

  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional, for extra sweetness)

For the pasta:

  • 12 oz pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or linguine work great)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the shrimp:
In a shallow bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs. Dip each shrimp into the flour mixture, then the beaten egg, and finally the breadcrumbs. Make sure each shrimp is fully coated.

  • Fry the shrimp:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Remove the shrimp and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

  • Make the sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and honey (if using). Adjust the level of sriracha to your desired spice level.

  • Cook the pasta:
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining. In the same pot, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat, and sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the drained pasta and reserved pasta water, tossing to coat the pasta in the garlic butter sauce.

  • Assemble the dish:
Gently toss the crispy shrimp in the Bang Bang sauce until well-coated. Add the shrimp to the pasta and toss everything together. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and fresh parsley for garnish.

  • Serve:
Serve the Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta hot, garnished with extra Parmesan and parsley if

Notes

For a healthier option, use grilled shrimp instead of fried shrimp and a lighter mayonnaise or Greek yogurt for the sauce.Add extra vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or zucchini to the pasta for added flavor and texture. If you prefer a milder dish, reduce the amount of sriracha or substitute with a mild chili sauce.
