Air Fryer Tofu is a quick and easy recipe that makes tofu perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside using minimal oil. This Air Fryer Tofu recipe is a healthy, plant-based option that’s perfect for salads, grain bowls, stir-fries, or simple weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 14 ounces extra-firm tofu
1 tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil
    1 tablespoon soy sauce
    2 tablespoons cornstarch
    ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    ½ teaspoon onion powder
    ¼ teaspoon black pepper
    ¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon paprika or chili powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap the tofu block in paper towels or a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 15 minutes.

  • Cut the pressed tofu into even bite-sized cubes.

  • Place the tofu cubes in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and soy sauce.

  • Sprinkle the cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and optional paprika over the tofu. Toss gently until evenly coated.

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.

  • Arrange the tofu cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece.

  • Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the tofu is golden and crispy.

  • Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately. Toss with your favorite sauce if desired.

Notes
