Ingredients

  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks (cut in half if desired)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Cut mozzarella sticks in half if making smaller portions.
  • Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Dip each mozzarella piece into flour, then egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  • Repeat dipping in egg and breadcrumbs for a second coating.
  • Place coated sticks on a tray and freeze for 30–60 minutes.
  • Preheat air fryer to 190°C (375°F).
  • Lightly spray mozzarella sticks with cooking spray.
  • Place in air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Air fry for 6–8 minutes until golden and crispy (watch closely to prevent cheese from leaking).
  • Serve immediately with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.
