Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets are crispy, tender, and healthier than traditional fried nuggets. They’re perfect for a quick and easy meal or snack, made with simple ingredients and cooked in an air fryer for a crunchy exterior and juicy interior.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for spraying)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken piece into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated, then dredge it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil, then arrange the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the basket. Make sure they are not overcrowded for even cooking.
  5. Air fry the chicken nuggets at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve the chicken nuggets hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

If you’re using gluten-free breadcrumbs, make sure the other ingredients (like Parmesan) are also gluten-free if needed. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture. You can also freeze the breaded chicken nuggets for later use. Just freeze them on a baking sheet, then transfer them to a bag, and air fry from frozen for about 15 minutes at 400°F (200°C).
