5 Cup Salad is a classic, no-bake dessert or side dish made with five simple ingredients: pineapple, mandarin oranges, mini marshmallows, coconut, and sour cream. It’s creamy, fruity, and perfect for gatherings or quick treats.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1 cup mandarin orange segments, drained
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, mini marshmallows, and shredded coconut.
  2. Add the sour cream and gently fold all the ingredients together until well coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the texture to set.
  4. Stir again just before serving. Serve chilled.

Notes

Thoroughly drain canned fruits to avoid a watery salad.Can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge until ready to serve.Substitute Greek yogurt for a tangier, lighter version.Add maraschino cherries or chopped nuts for extra flavor and texture.Not suitable for freezing, as texture will change.
